The 10, jack, king and queen count as 10. The cards from 2 to 9, their value is the same with what is written. In blackjack, an ace's value is either 1 or 11. If you got an ace, 6 and 3, ace that counts as 11. Another example, if your cards are 9, 6 and an ace, the ace counts as one to avoid going over 21.

Each player will receive two cards to start the game and the dealer will have one hidden card until the end of the game. Each player can ask for another card or hold their current cards until the game ends. If the total amount of your cards reaches over 21 then you will bust and the dealer will automatically win. You will get 'Blackjack' if you got a total of 21 (Ace and 10) from the very start.

Players have different choices that they can make in order to win the game. First is surrender. You must make this decision before choosing any other. Surrender is when the player gives up the current cards in their hand and the risk is half of the wager.

Hitting and standing are the common strategy for the player to use. Hitting is to draw another card and standing is to hold your current cards until the end of the game.

Doubling down is usually played by the player who believe they have cards which will be unbeatable with the addition of one more card. Though you will get only one additional card you can also double your bet.

The good time to do this strategy is when your current card's amount is 11 and the dealer card's account is 5.

Splitting pairs will allow you to divide the cards into two. This strategy allows you to avoid bad situation and to increase the change of winning.

The last strategy is insurance and even money. Insurance is a poor bet because it has high casino edge. And an even money strategy usually offered by the dealer when you got blackjack.

There are some rules in a hand-held game which differ such as you cannot touch your cards with two hands. The cards must be over the table. You must keep the cards that the dealer gives you on the table.
